You can also take your data home on CDs. They hold only about 634 Mbytes of
data. That’s just under 2400 raw
NIRIM images. (If that sounds like a
lot, it may not be, especially if you are observing at K', where each image may only be a few
seconds long!)
Instructions for writing CDROMs can be found at: http://claret.kpno.noao.edu/wiyn/cd_write.html. Note that you should use the
CD writer on sand rather than pearl.
You
can then check the CDs by placing them in the CD reader on sand and
displaying from the directory /mnt/cdrom.
