5.   Taping Data

****NIRIM data is NOT included in the Save-the-Bits program!!!  YOU are responsible for backing it up!****

Both Exabyte and DAT tape drives are available. In fact, they are available on 2 different computers, sand and pearl, although you will probably only use the tape drives on sand.  It is also possible to write your data to CDROM.  We discuss the three most common ways to write data below.
