Face-to-face meeting in Tucson

RESOLUTION 1997-01: The cash contributions from the universities authorized in Board RESOLUTION 1996-21 will be due in two equal installments, one on April 1, 1997 and the other on January 1, 1998.

RESOLUTION 1997-02: The WIYN Board hereby accepts the WIYN Financial Statements for FY 1996 as audited by Coopers & Lybrand.

RESOLUTION 1997-03: The WIYN Board waives the late payment penalty for the Q2 FY1997 Operations payment by Indiana University.

RESOLUTION 1997-04: The WIYN Site Manager in consultation with the SAC has the authority to spend the capital expenditures budget during the period until the next WIYN Board meeting.

RESOLUTION 1997-05: The Board accepts the report of the WIYN Safety Review Committee and the revised priorities for addressing the safety items as listed in the report of the WIYN Telescope Scientist of March 1, 1997.

RESOLUTION 1997-06: The Board authorizes the reimbursement of Art Code's expenses in his role as Observatory Scientist up to $10K.

RESOLUTION 1997-07: All spending authorization will be continued at the same prorated level until the next Board meeting on October 18, 1997.

Face-to-face meeting in Wisconsin

RESOLUTION 1997-08: The WIYN Site Manager, in consultation with the SAC, has the authority to spend the capital expenditures budget during FY98.

RESOLUTION 1997-09: The SAC has reviewed the Site Manager's Operations Plan for FY98 and recommends its adoption.

RESOLUTION 1997-10: The SAC recommended that the Board approve the list of FY98 improvement projects in the Blue Meeting Book.

RESOLUTION 1997-11: George Jacoby is appointed WIYN Telescope Scientist until January 1, 1998, or until a replacement is available.

RESOLUTION 1997-12: Approved Abi Saha as the new WIYN Telescope Scientist under the assumption he will accept the position.

RESOLUTION 1997-13: The WIYN Board authorizes the Site Manager, in consultation with the SAC, to spend up to $10,000 for Jeff Percival's services in support of remote observing in FY98. They will be credited as an in-kind contribution to Operations by the University of Wisconsin.

RESOLUTION 1997-14: The Board authorizes the expenditure of up to $50,000 from the Investment Fund to carry through a detailed design of a Tip-tilt imaging camera system. The Board strongly endorses carrying through this project and will make a good faith effort to raise the necessary funds for its completion. A statement of work, including a budget, should be presented to the SAC for approval.
